There are Hot Clubs in Norway, Tokyo, San Francisco, New York, and probably every major city where the guitar is played. It is through the playing of the brilliant Gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt that most people are introduced to jazz manouche, as they call the style in its birthplace, France.

In addition to this early rhythmic jazz which originated in and around Paris, Hot Club of Reading blends in early New Orleans hot jazz such as Louis Armstrong and his counterpart on soprano saxophone and clarinet, American-turned-Frenchman, Sidney Bechet.

The beautiful mountains of Reading, Pennsylvania may seem an unlikely place for this type of jazz to flourish but the Hot Club of Reading has developed a loyal following in the hills of Berks County and beyond.
